I still remember walking out at night with Travis and Chica for that last pit-stop of the day and hearing you practice improv in your bedroom. Also enjoyed having custody of your bass for a few months! ;-) You’ve come a long way Ryan and it’s been a real pleasure to see you mature not only as a musician but as a man.

I think I’ll have to pass on the Jazzy Wonderland album, though. It just had the unfortunate fate of being a jazz record that was (over)produced in 1990. It’s not a sound I particularly like.

Leroy Anderson was great, though. One of the classic arranger/conductors, even if it is a little “dated” by today’s standards. I still like that schmaltzy stuff. Lots of his stuff has since been reissued and/or re-recorded. Check out:
